We moved into an apartment today. The apartment was to be move in ready when we signed our lease. When we got there we realized that the place is disgusting and unsanitary. We now have to wait 3 days to move in and our landlord refuses to discount the rent even tho it is not move in ready. Can we sue at all for this? There are big problems in 99% of the apartment that can be hazardous (tacks on the floor, mildew, the shower head is coming off, we don’t have a fire extinguisher, etc etc). Since we can’t safely move in can we sue?
