I think I’m losing the baby :(
Around 6 weeks I noticed my symptoms start to come and go, so I called my doctor and he scheduled 2 blood draws to check my HCG and ensure it is rising.
I went in Friday at 6w2d and my HCG was 15,488. My doctor said that looked good.
I went in today (Monday) at 6w5d and haven’t gotten my second HCG results yet.
This afternoon around 4 PM I began to have dark red/brownish-red spotting and a bit of brown mucus when I wiped.
Unfortunately I had a miscarriage at 6w5d in June and it started exactly like this. No pain, just a small amount of dark blood. Not even enough to really get on my panties. But exactly the same as now.
If you’re a praying type please do pray. However because of the similarities to June I don’t have much hope.
UPDATE 2/16: I got my second HCG results back (tested Monday 2/15, the same day I had spotting) and my levels almost doubled to nearly 30,000 within 72 hours. My doctor called to tell me that he feels this is really good news and that we may not be losing the baby after all. He has scheduled me for a transvaginal ultrasound on Thursday 2/18 (the soonest I could get in) to check as he thinks we should be able to see a baby and heartbeat at that level if all is well. I will be 7w1d at that point. Please pray for a miracle if you believe in miracles!
UPDATE 2/18: The baby is fine!!!!!!! Measuring right on track at 7 weeks, strong heartbeat with a good BPM! I burst into tears, I could not believe it.
UPDATE 2/23: We went in for our 8 week (ish) appointment today! All is still well, baby is measuring EXACTLY on track and heartbeat is up to 150! We got to hear the heartbeat today! We were also able to get many answers to our many first-time-parent questions.
I’ll have an appointment next Friday just over 9w to go over mostly logistics (will we do genetic testing, delivery preferences, etc) although the doctor has said he may be able to sneak in a quick ultrasound for peace of mind :) Then we will have another ultrasound around 12 weeks to confirm the end of the first trimester and ensure no problems have arisen. Doctor seemed very happy with baby’s development, gestational sac, etc. so hopefully and with a lot of prayer, this baby will continue to grow and be safely delivered!
