Taking benadryl?

Hi there. So it's going to be a week since I had my son. I'm now getting a reaction to something. I have no idea to what I haven't changed anything in my diet.  Can I take benadryl? I will try to contact my ob tomorrow since texas is having a crazy winter day.

No definitely not Benadryl.  Women use it to dry up their milk supply.  I would, personally, try to ride it out if it’s not a major reaction.  I’ve had so many new allergies since having my son that I really feel you on this.  Some women can take Claritin or Zyrtec without it affecting their milk supply so that might help.

Thank you ladies. I called the om on call physician and they recommended benadryl.

I would talk to your doctor or lactation consultant but I’ve taken Benadryl when I had a allergic reaction on my face and my supply was fine. I only took two doses. However my son was 18 months old at the time. I just wouldn’t take more than that and I’d run it past a lactation consult.
