Should I stop breastfeeding to get pregnant?

I have 2 children and I had my youngest 18months ago we wanna try for #3 but I’m still nursing my son. Should I stop breastfeeding to get Max fertility? I’ve had my period start when he was 9 months old and it’s been regular

No need to wean if you are having normal cycles. I’ve nursed all the way through two previous pregnancies.

If you’ve been having your period regularly, have you also been temping and using OPKs? I would think that would help you figure out if you’re ovulating regularly too, which is usually what can be suppressed while breastfeeding.

I quit breastfeeding to get pregnant. We want them close together and breastfeeding only interferes with my ovulation making it next to impossible for me to get pregnant. No one can tell you what the choice is, depends on how badly you want to conceive sooner rather than later. Of course it's possible to still get pregnant, but by the sounds of your irregular cycles, it may be much harder. If you are BBT and using OPks you'll have a better chance should you choose to continue nursing
