My fiancé thinks I treat his kids and our son differently.
My fiancé has 4 kids from a previous relationship and we have a 2 month old son together. He thinks I treat our son differently then his kids and I agree with that, because he’s ours. I love his kids, but I don’t love his kids like I love our son and I told him that. He understood where I was coming from and wasn’t mad, because I felt that way. They have a mom already and I’m not trying to be their mom. In disciplining I’m not going to always take my son side, if my son does something wrong to his brother and sisters we as his parents can find an appropriate way to handle it. The same with his kids. He said how would I feel if I had kids from a previous relationship and he treated them differently? I told him I wouldn’t like that, but I don’t have kids from a previous relationship, so I feel lost. I do show my son more affectionate, attention, love, etc because I gave birth to him and carry him for 9 months. It’s a feeling that I’ve never felt before and I feel like his kids already has a mother to do that to them. I would never let anything bad happen to his kids and ours, I cook for them, put them to bed when they’re at our house, I watch them carefully when we’re out, etc. Am I wrong for feeling this way? I also don’t want to over step anything.
