Spotting, bleeding, and clots after IUD insertion

I had an IUD placed last Friday on the last day of my period. I think it's just mom brain, but I don't think I expected to bleed so much after insertion. It's not super heavy, but it was heavy enough the past few days to use a light tampon. I also noticed a lot of clots. Not huge clots, but a bunch of small clots. I'm still having a few cramps here and there, but nothing crazy. I know that irregular bleeding is expected for up to 6 months, which seems like a horribly long time, but I'll get over it.

I'm just really wondering how long bleeding and spotting lasts after insertion before stopping even if just for a few days. I'm just dying for some relief from all the blood. My period started 2 weeks ago and I'm just really anxious for it to be over now. Just looking for anecdotes. I'm not nearly concerned enough to call my doctor. I just want some hope that I have a day or two coming with no blood and soon.
