Are you ever short with your kids?

I call liar to anyone who says they have never been short with their children! Never? Like really not even once?

On rare occasions. I'm usually extremely patient and understanding, but some days are just mentally hard and you can't tolerate as much as your normally could. But luckily those days aren't too often.

I have a 3 week old and a 2.5 year old. The 2.5 y/o has been testing limits and not listening now that baby brother is home. He isn’t bad at all, but he blatantly ignores when my husband and I tell him to do something. With lack of sleep and trying to manage a newborn, we have been fairly short with him. I feel bad and try to remain calm and give him chances, but he exhausts thoughts very quickly. We are trying to teach him the importance of ‘listening ears’ so when he is ignoring we ask if his listening ears are on or if he needs a minute on the stair to get ready (our version of time out). It’s been quite the learning curve with two but I’m trying to give him grace, it is a big life change with baby brother.

I can honestly say I’ve never been short with my almost 13m old but she’s still pretty young so I’ve got time 😅

Pretty rarely I think. Worse after a long day at work or if I have to repeat myself multiple times to them when they aren’t listening.

I can only tell my 5yo to get ready in the morning so many times before I get frustrated. He knows WHY, but he'll legit stare at me til I lose my shit, I don't get it!!!
