Introducing bottle?

Question

When did you introduce a bottle to your EBF baby? My supply really dips around 8pm-midnight and my daughter gets super fussy at the breast during this timeframe. I have contemplated pumping and introducing a bottle for this period of time to reduce frustration.

It’s a body’s natural response to have a dip in those hrs. Just let baby nurse. The more you do a bottle the more chance of baby preferring the bottle nipple. This is where pace feeding is very important with breastfeeding babies. If under 6wks old then I wouldn’t even consider doing that. 
This could also be the witching hour.

Cluster feeding in the evenings is incredibly common. My LO for quite a while nursed from 7-10 pm and I had no supply issues. Best thing is to let baby nurse so your body responds with more milk instead of doing a bottle.

Like others said it’s common for babies to demand more before the night sleep period - the milk is usually a bit fattier then and they enjoy the texture and it’s really satisfying - presumably to prepare for longer gaps between feeds at night.
To answer your original question though - I introduced a bottle at the 2 month mark so I could try going out for a few hours. I have struggled to get my baby to really take to a bottle though, she refuses it usually unless she’s really hungry so I must confess my bottles are gathering dust...

5 months but I wish we did it sooner. I found the most helpful was to have my husband feed her the bottle since she associated me with the boob
