Does calling a Child baby, love, sweetheart, etc promote the child to act younger then they are.
I work at a program with children ranging from 5 to 10 I tend to use worlds names like baby, love, honey, sweetheart with the kids. I’ve always viewed these words as loving word that show the child I care about them. A parent point it out to me and argued that because I use those names with his child I’m promoting him acting like a baby. Mind you this child’s behavior has gotten so much better and has developed much more self control which my Coworker have also noticed. So I’m curious how other view it. No other parent has a problem with it.
