Santa Clause, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny...
Hey y'all. My twins are 8 months old and I was looking through Pinterest when I noticed something about the tooth fairy. This sparked a conversation with my husband and has left me just back and forth. I AM NOT SHAMING ANY PARENT WHETHER THEY CHOOSE TO HAVE THEIR KID BELIEVE OR NOT. I am just here asking and shopping around for some ideas. Both points have undeniable pros and cons alike. On one side, believing in things like that when I was a child made the holidays more magical and left me with some stories; I realized speaking with my husband, that I look back at and laugh and its just a pleasant memory. I want that for them. On the other side, I dont want to have to justify lying to them and keeping secrets, especially about things that mean a lot to a kid. I remember when I found out, the first thing I thought of was, is Jesus real? I don't want them to question things like that. And, i want them to understand reality and understand that you cant wave a wand and take care of of get what you want. I also dont want them trusting in someone in a strange suit if, god forbid, someone in that suit had ill intent. I dont want them to feel like some being has control over what they get for Christmas because some man is always watching them. Im just seeking out some common ground between the two to where I don't lie to my children but also let them still experience the magic of holidays and have great memories and times to look back on when they're older. Maybe tell them its kinda like Halloween mixed with a tradition? I dont know. I just thought I would come on here and talk it out with my mommies.
Also, if anyone is going to comment anything about religion or wants to be snarky, I'm not interested. Im calling all my understanding mommas. Thank you.
