Confused baby?

My baby is 5 months old and has been bottle fed with formula since birth, so why does she pretend to latch on over my shirt?

Maybe it’s instinctual for them? Not sure but my 3 month old will try to latch on to anyone lol

Breastfeeding is not just for food it’s also comfort. Feeling close to momma. If baby is doing it on a full belly, baby just need momma and wants to be comforted.

My baby does the same and she’s been bottle fed since birth. I think it’s instinct to root when hungry.
