Out of respect I’d tell them my condolences, offer support, and see if they wanted me at the funeral. Some exes would find it rude you went and others would find it rude if you didn’t go. I’d leave it up to your ex though with their comfortability in the situation.

Depends on why/how you broke up, but also the relationship you had with the one who sadly passed. If you had a great relationship with the relative, but a horrible breakup, I personally wouldn't go to the funeral, but pay my respects the following day by leaving flowers at the grave.
