When do you become a MOM?
I saw this post a while back on Instagram. A woman had been going through fertility treatments and hadn't conceived yet. She published a post about her journey and that even though she didn't have a baby yet, her journey made her a mom. (Sidenote: sending her lots of baby dust! 👶)
It got me thinking, when do we become moms? Is it at conception? Is it before baby has been made and we are TTC like the Instagram post suggested? Is it when we see that first positive on a test? Is it when we first hear the heartbeat? Is it when baby is placed in your arms (birth mama or adoptive mama)?
When is it? When does the moment happen?
After giving it some thought, I think for me, I felt like I was a "mama to be" during pregnancy, and then I became a mom the moment my daughter was born, but that's just my personal opinion.
I know this isn't a controversy, but rather more of a general discussion/debate. It seemed like the best place to post the question.
Also, for the sake of the discussion, I'm not including fur babies, but of course I feel like a mama to my doggie. ❤️🐾🐕
