Novena to St Jude

This is a Novena (a form of Catholic prayer where we ask a Saint to help intercede on our behalf with God for anyone who doesn’t know) that I have used countless times in my life. It truly has never failed, though sometimes God hasn’t answered my prayers quite the way I thought He would. I found it when I was 18 helping my mum go through my grandma’s things when she needed to be moved into a care home due to her health conditions. I found it at a time when I really needed help and felt like I was on a hopeless path. Interestingly, my mum has a similar story of how she found a copy of the same Novena. I used to stick these in bibles at church in the hope thatd they’d find their way to someone who also needed some help. Unfortunately, due to COVID I haven’t been able to attend church in almost a year now. So I’m hoping that by posting here someone else in meed may find it.

This Novena is to St. Jude, the patron saint of lost causes. It is supposed to be said before 11am every day for 9 days. Publication must be promised as well- this is my form of publication today. The prayer:

St. Jude, O Holy Saint Jude, apostle and martyr, great in virtue and rich in miracles, near kinsman of Jesus Christ, faithful intercessor of all who invoke your special patronage in time of need. To you I have recourse from the depth of my heart and humbly beg to whom God has given such great power to come to my assistance. Help me in my present and urgent petition (state your petition here). In return I promise to make your name known and cause you to be invoked. (Say 3 Our Fathers, 3 Hail Mary’s and 3 Glorias). St. Jude pray for us and all who invoke your aid. Amen.
