First PIO injection

Crafty Llama Mama • Mommy to Baby E, 21 month old son via Embryo Adoption💙 expecting Baby #2 due 08/2023

Hubby just gave me my first PIO injection and I’m amazed at how smoothly it went! I barely even felt it. (My bum was numb, but hey whatever works, right?) I’ve been dreading these for forever and I’m amazed at how painless it was.

I put an ice pack on my butt for about 5 minutes beforehand.

Once I had the oil drawn up I put the plunger on my heating pad for a couple minutes.

After injecting, he massaged the area for a bit. (I barely even felt that part)

I’m now sitting with a heating pad on for 20 minutes.

I’m also super emotional from all the meds and hormones I’m pumping so I cried at how smooth of a process it really was. I want my hubby to do these injections because it lets him feel involved and part of the process. We are using donor embryos so they aren’t genetically our children and so far I’ve been the one doing all the things. This gives him a chance to feel included and needed. ❤️

FET ONLY 4 days and 1 hour away. ❤️❤️❤️

They also haven’t been as bad as I thought they would be. Every now and then one stings a lot going in, or the muscle feels a little sore after, but I think maybe some areas are just getting sensitive.

I was also dreading the PIO and have only been sore one day since starting them! My hubby gives them to me and all I do now is warm the vial of oil up for 10 minutes before injecting. Been on them for two weeks so far. Good luck to you!! ❤️
