Toddler Fell from Chair
My 19 month old climbed up on a kitchen chair when my back was turned. I was on my way to get him down and he slipped and fell. He landed on his butt, but his head hit the wall. It’s a pretty tall chair, though. It’s for a higher table. He was inconsolable for a good 30+ minutes.
The only thing that called him down was taking him for a car ride and he fell asleep (he was tired before he fell and probably worked himself to over tired with all his crying). He kept holding his right wrist, but it doesn’t seem bruised or swollen and he can move it.
Does this warrant a call to the doctor for a possible concussion? He has fallen before, but usually a distraction and some hugs calms him down immediately. I’m not usually worried since he bumps his head a lot and I’ve googled signs of concussions in toddlers, but I’m wondering if I should get a jump on calling the doctor since we’re coming up on the weekend, or just keep an eye on him?
Thanks.
