IVF TIPS

If my husband was diagnosed with male infertility should I still be stressing about trying to do acupuncture? Will it be of any benefit to me?

If acupuncture causes you stress then I don’t think you’ll benefit as much. However, if you can learn to relax then it can still be beneficial, even if your only issue is MFI. IVF is never a guarantee even for perfectly healthy, fertile couples, so I feel that anything to help increase your chances of it working are worth it since you’re spending so much money in the first place. When I started doing acupuncture I hated it and didn’t find it relaxing at all, but after a few months I learned to look forward to my appointments and I was able to fully relax. I even fell asleep a few times lol! It helps increase the blood flow to your uterus, but it also helps to regulate your hormones and thyroid so that your body is more receptive to a potential pregnancy. My clinic offered acupuncture immediately before and after my transfer to help it stick, but I also did acupuncture 2 days after my transfer with my regular acupuncturist (in a separate office) to help it implant as well. I had been going to my regular acupuncturist for about a year before my actual transfer took place, as recommended by my fertility dr at my first appointment.

The main point of acupuncture is relaxation and blood flow. Do that however you like best. I personally got massages once a week leading up to my procedures and then I made sure to get in a good walk or job everyday.
