UPDATE: I went for my mfm ultrasound last week and had a consult 2 days later. She said there is fluid on the left kidney but it is something that will resolve on its own over time. She wasn’t worried about the brain at all, said it looked great. He is measuring in the 11th percentile, not the 4th. They still couldn’t get a good look at his heart because of how he is laying so I go back in 2 weeks for a second anatomy scan. Overall she said he’s just a small baby, doesn’t seem to be caused by anything but I go for growth scans every 3 weeks to make sure he doesn’t slow in growth or stop growing. If he drops to the 10th percentile or lower I have to go every two weeks. Still waiting on my genetics testing to come back but I’m a lot less worried now.

I went in for my anatomy scan today and I’m 21 weeks and 2 days. I thought everything was going great and then the doctor came in and told me baby was only measuring in the 4th percentile, there’s a small part of his brain that is underdeveloped, fluid on his kidney and a spot on his heart. Heart rate was perfect though. I originally had opted out of the genetic testing but today they said it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get that done so I was tested today. I have an appointment with a maternal fetal specialist next week. I just feel like I have no answers and have no idea what to expect. Has anybody else gone through something like this?
