Traveling tips please!

At the end of August/early September, we will be traveling. Keep in mind, I’m a crazy mom. I keep my kids on a tight schedule and am very routine oriented. I do realize I will have to let some of that go in order to vacation. However, I am petrified to travel with these kids. Ha.

My oldest daughter will be 2.5 and my youngest 6 months.

We are driving to NY from KS. It’s a 20 hour drive. We will stop twice the way there and back. My youngest is EBF.

We are staying at the family cabin. There’s two bedrooms: one with a queen bed and one with bunk beds. My oldest is sleep trained and sleeps in her own room in her crib typically. My youngest MIGHT be sleep trained by then. Currently, we bedshare, which is less than ideal. My oldest daughter has slept elsewhere before in a Pack n Play.

On the way back, we are stopping at a resort for a few days. We got a suite, so there will be a bedroom and main area separated. I was thinking my oldest would sleep in a pack n play in the main area.

How do you deal with sleep environment changes? Long car rides? Schedule changes? I’m so nervous and afraid we will be miserable.
