How late would you travel?! 3rd trimester

Question

My brother is having a destination wedding in Florida when I will be 33.5 weeks pregnant. OB says its okay to travel on domestic flights up to 36 weeks. Thoughts on how late you’d take a 2.5hr plane ride and be away from home??? Even if safe just  due to discomfort and possibility that anything could happen it makes me nervous even though I want to be there for my brother.

You should check with your insurance. With ours they won’t cover the birth out of network after a certain number of weeks. I can’t remember if it’s 34 or 36. So if I traveled and had a problem we’d be stuck with the bill. I don’t know how many insurance plans are like that, but it’s better to check just in case.

I remember being so uncomfortable trying to sit in a movie theater while 7 months prego (and it was a movie I loved ) that I told myself never again would I put myself through those constrains at the end of pregnancy lol

Oh man I totally understand your dilema, wanting to be there for your brother, etc.  personally I wouldn’t even more got the discomfort than the risks; if you’re healthy it’s probably not a huge risk especially if your doctor is ok with it; but even a long car ride at 33 weeks pregnant is not comfortable 😑.

I just drove to Florida (20 hours) at 28 weeks and I’ll be driving back home. With my 2 and 4 year olds also. In a previous pregnancy I flew 10 hours at 31 weeks pregnant. I wouldn’t hesitate to fly 2.5 hours at 33/34 weeks (unless your fear is covid).

As long as you are comfortable with it, go for it. I went to Texas from Ohio when I was 34 weeks with my 5th for a getaway with the hubby. The flight and driving didn't bother me. As long as you are healthy and your doctor isn't concerned, go have fun!

I personally wouldn’t. I couldn’t imagine the discomfort. My brother in law is getting married 2.5 hours away and I’ll be 34 weeks and we are not going. It’s a last minute plan for them also so it’s not like we have had months to plan this.  2.5 hour car ride would probably take more like 3.5 knowing how much I have to pee and needing to move around 😂

Personally probably 32-34 weeks but if you have any high risk issues I’d consider that as well. Just have a plan and know where the nearest hospital is if you go and need to be seen.

I personally wouldn’t, but I’m at a higher risk for blood clots which plane travel can cause. If you so go remember your compression socks and pump your legs.

I traveled up until I was 37 weeks with my first! This one were not traveling because of the pandemic but that’s the only reason! I’d go if you’re comfortable
