Would you be hurt?

I was going in to hug my boyfriend and he said “we’ve been together all day, I just need a minute.” Would this hurt your feelings?

Sometimes people get “touched out”. This happens to me sometimes. I’d try not to read into it too much, but maybe try bringing it up at another time, so you can understand why.

Yeah it would, but I would appreciate his honesty. Some people just get on sensory overload and need some physical space. I'm the same way, I love my husband immensely but sometimes need a break from physical contact. I know it hurts his feelings sometimes. Its never meant anything about how I feel about him just a personal issue of mine.

In a way, yes a little, but I also recognize and respect when someone sets a boundary and needs space. I get exhausted being around my bf too much sometimes and I need space from him. It's nothing against him. I just need a break and have some time for myself. That's not to say that I don't find a lot of comfort and relaxation being with my bf, but sometimes I just need to be left alone.

Nope. I know my boyfriend needs his space at times and I have to respect that. It’s totally healthy and normal to want time away from your partner.

Boundaries. Even in long term relationships. It can hurt for the moment to feel that rejection but he was honest and not rude. Be proud that he can communicate his wants and needs. It says a lot about trust.

Yea it would 100% hurt my feelings at first. But I get it at the same time. Sometimes I just don’t want to be touched.

I 100% have only child syndrome and need me time.  My husband knows this and will give me space without me asking.  I did ask at first and he was fine with it.  Trust me it’s nothing against you, sometimes you just need to down time
