TMI! Period maybe?

Question

I have been on nexplanon for 2 years. I usually just spot all the time and when i have periods i only bleed for like a day or 2 but only a little bit. This happened today. Before This I had 2 smaller ones but this one freaked me out.  I have also had this weird brown reddish thick discharge that smells bad. I don’t have it all the time but when I do it smells. Usually when I see some on my panty liner I go in and see that I have more inside. It looks like toilet paper but it’s not I don’t know what it is but I’m freaking out.

The "Dark Stuff" is clotted blood (blood that is a little bit older and stuck together), mixed in with some other secretions, along with fresh blood from a normal bleed.
This can be totally normal for women - it is very common to have the blood stick together to form a clot if you are inactive for a bit, such as when you sleep.
I get this when I first get up in the morning during a period.
Blood that would have come out and onto a pad, or gone into a tampon, doesn't always make it out, as you are not moving and less gravity to help it come down and out.
For some women, because the blood has clotted, it can have a different smell - for example, a much more 'metallic' smell, like something has gotten really rusty.
This is also usually normal, and is due to the blood being exposed to air in the time it becomes a clot.
HOWEVER!
If something is NOT normal for you, then you absolutely should feel ok about speaking to a healthcare professional about it.
In this case, it is up to you, as this looks like a very normal trip to the bathroom during a period.
I have had 4 implants (had the last one removed last April), and throughout my use of them, my bodily functions could change one month to the next.
One month I might just have a day or two of light bleeding, the next month might be nothing, and the next month could be a 7 day bleed.
There was no 'normal', because using hormonal contraception causes your body to not ovulate, and therefore not act 'normally'. It did what it felt like, and that was generally all fine with me.
I do not believe that this is something concerning at the moment. 
However, I am not a Gynaecologist, nor do I know your medical history, and most importantly.... a healthcare professional that you have access to, has the ability to examine you if you are concerned.
