Okay long post but I need opinions:

My best friend of 15 years (and cousin through marriage) and I are pregnant at the same time (she is due about 8 weeks before me).

My husband and I have a 2 year old son already and had a boy name and a girl name picked out that we both LOVED when I was pregnant with him in 2018. Obviously we used the boy name for our son and still had the girl name for when we would hopefully have a little girl.

My friend announced the name they had chosen for their girl, and it is the same name my husband and I had picked out for a girl ☹️ we have not found out the gender of our baby yet, but if we end up having a girl, do we still use that name? Half of me says yes, we’ve had our hearts set on it for over 2 years and they JUST picked it. And half of me says no, that’s a jerk move.

And if this baby is a boy, do we still use it in the future if we end up having a girl? I’m SO bummed that they chose the same name and am so torn on what to do if this little babe is a girl. What would you do?!
