38+2 contractions?

I’m 38+2 second baby, I was induced with my first so I guess I don’t know how oncoming labor really feels? having some tightening in my back that wraps around my pelvis to my abdomen.. been coming every 5 minutes almost exactly.. should I call L&D ? I really don’t want to go in for false labor.. does this sound like labor is setting in??

It depends on where you are more comfortable. If you are concerned you will progress quickly, head on in, if you’re ok waiting it out at home until you are in active labor, you can do that too! I went in because I thought my water broke, it didn’t, so I went home. 2 hours later I went from zero contractions to full blown labor and had my daughter 5 hours later!

It definitely sounds like the start of something. Like another poster said, if you feel more comfortable definitely call and see if you can get seen. The worst that is going to happen is them telling you that you are in the beginning stages of labor and send you home. 
I labored at home from 2am-9am with my first because they weren’t that painful. Still took me a whole 35 hours before starting to push so it’s really up to your comfort level!

Also they have been consistently coming for about an hour now every 5 min lasting roughly 45 seconds

Are they painful or just uncomfortable? 
You should go in and get checked. Maybe these contractions are making you dilate even if they are not as painful.
