Covid vaccine experience, second dose. @me for vaccine help or questions!
Hey yall, just thought I’d share as so many people are worried about it!
Just got my second Pfizer dose at CVS, some of my coworkers got it at a police station. All the vaccinators in my area are RNs, RN students, LPNs, EMTs, MAs, Paramedics, or pharmacy staff, and everyone is trained. I’m a covid facing healthcare worker and this has been the biggest relief of my LIFE.
First dose I had injection site pain, no muscle pain like the flu shot but it felt like a bruise. Some tiredness, nothing else. Gone in 12 hours.
Today, 24hours after my second dose, I have a slight fever, minor body aches, loss of appetite, fatigue, minor gi cramping (feels like anxious stomach, not bad) and my arm feels like it has a major bruise or small injury at the injection site. Injection site is red and slightly swollen. Ice packs and Tylenol helps significantly. I can move it without pain, unlike the flu shot, but it does hurt worse than the flu shot. It’s completely manageable though, I completed an exam and 2 classes no problem. Although unpleasant, I would 1000% recommend.
if anyone would like assistance finding a location near you in any US state or when you’ll be eligible, let me know!! Some states are making it difficult. If you are not eligible but believe you are at risk, pharmacy waitlists are your best friend
