Assymetrical crawling?

So my 9 month old (almost 10 months now) was crawling on all fours since the day he turned 7 months and for the past week or two he’s been crawling with one foot planted on the ground.. I thought it’s cause he’s getting ready to stand but I googled it and was horrified by the results.. eye problems? Autism? That can’t be right.. is anyone else’s baby crawling this way? What do you think causes this?

mine started out doing that kind of craw at first, now she crawls normal. sometimes she does this lunge/kneel where one foot is planted and then her other knee is on the floor. super cute i call it her captain morgan stance

My son crawls like this. He's also a big boy so I think it takes some pressure off his knees. He pulls to stand as well so the knee helps him pivot around 😂

Yes my baby is crawling this way since last one or two week, I was wondering why and just today she tried to walk one step ahead so may be they do it before walking. she has been standing since one month.
 And this wasn't the case with my first.

It's only worrisome if he doesn't use the other leg effective. His knee could be sore or he thinks it's more efficent.
My son will crawl like that & then switch or do "normal crawling"

My daughter goes back and forth. Her Gollum crawl as we call it usually happens on floors where she’s slipping

My friends baby is 8 months and he crawls this way, but he can also stand up if he has something to grab I think that foot planted helps him with that. I think it’s to early to tell for that but he seemed fine he’s a very active baby and is close to walking, maybe your baby wants to stand?
