UTI and early pregnancy?

Question

I'm about 7/8 dpo and haven't gotten a positive pregnancy test yet (I know it's so early! And I know that only a test is a for sure way to indicate pregnancy) But I was wondering did anyone else get a UTI in the beginning of their pregnancy? I NEVER get a UTI but I have one now. I pee after sex, so I know that's not it... I just wanna know for fun!

That’s actually fairly common since when you’re pregnant, there is typically more sugar, hormones, protein, etc. in your urine, which can lead to an overgrowth of bacteria, but even normal bacteria from your skin can enter your urinary tract and proliferate and lead to infection, so it’s definitely not only caused by not urinating after intercourse. I wouldn’t assume it’s related to pregnancy at this point, though. 7-8DPO is still very very early and in most cases most of us haven’t even implanted yet. I’ve had a few UTI’s over the years. I’ve had one during pregnancy, and that was when I was around 25 weeks or so!

Getting a UTI does not “determine” early pregnancy. You can get UTI pregnant or not. If your pregnancy tests are negative it’s not pregnancy related.
