Does giving a baby a paci/dummy/binky reduce weight gain?

Question

If the baby is constantly sucking the dummy they are not going to be hungry so will this affect their weight gain?
Since giving the baby a binky I have noticed she does not drink that much milk and will happily take the binky and not feed for hours. Have I made a big mistake by giving it to her?

A dummy won’t stop a baby feeling hungry, it will just help soothe them if they need calming and not feeding

Non nutritive sucking gives babies pleasure. I haven’t heard of it being a problem for their weight gain or eating as long as you’re continuing to also offer them food when they’re hungry 🙂

Pacifiers doesn’t make your baby not hungry, per say. Maybe just give him the paci when he’s sleeping or tired. And not during “wake times”
