Bicycle height?

Hey all! I'm 26 years old and am just learning how to ride a bike 🤦🏻‍♀️ I want to get it down so my soon to be 3 year old and I can go biking together. I was gifted a fancy bike two Christmases ago from my ex, but it just doesn't feel comfortable for me. I'm not sure if it's too tall? So my point is, I need advice on wheel size. The one I have is 26 inches and I think a cruiser style. My boyfriend and mom both think it's too tall for me. I'm 5'2" and my inseam is like 26 inches? That could be wrong lol. Should I look at 24 inch wheels? Also what type should I look at? Hybrid? Help!!!!

The fact how far your legs reach on the geound is irrelevant. That is just for stopping convinience if your toes or feet touch the ground.
With a bike the seat height has to be correct so you reach the prdals right. Basically your leg has to be almost straight on a paddle when it is most far away. And almost straight but not as straight as you would be standing.

The seat should adjust up/down if you’re uncomfortable reaching the pedals but it looks like the right height to me

I know links don't work but just type it in a browser. This is a very good guide to fitting a bike. And in general tire size won't matter too much it is frame size that is important. I will say the bike you are on are a bit more cumbersome and might just feel awkward at first. They are larger and heavier. As a youth I did amateur professional mountain bike racing so have been heavily involved in bikes my whole life. Just play around with the heights and if something still feels off pretty much any bike shop should do fittings and can help make sure everything is where it should be. Good luck and have fun. That actually looks like the right size to me. It was always taught that when you’re sitting on the seat you want your toes to be touching the ground, not all of your feet. ￼I think it looks big because of the style... beach bikes are bulky. My moms felt awkward at first too.
