Doctor said to google it

Raise your hand if you went to the doctor because of unusual symptoms, they tested your blood and said it looks like you have an overactive thyroid and when you asked questions about it they told you to google it🙋🏾‍♀️ then they took your blood again to double check and they still haven’t gotten back to you almost 2 weeks later, even though they have the results, because the doctor needs to review it first??😭😭 who even tells a patient to google something? Now I’m sitting here thinking I have cancer, infertility, etc and they can’t even give me a call back😩 *sorry for the run on sentences, it was meant to be read all in one breath😅

Editing to add, she didn’t straight up say just google it, I was asking questions about it and she said “yeah if I were you I’d just go to google and search hyperthyroidism”. It was a phone call and might have been close to their closing time, I don’t remember. Also, I know I need to go somewhere else but I’m not working and this is the only place that’s free through my insurance😭

Why does this person have their PhD if they just say yeah Google it. That scares me and I wouldn't go back

Yeah I’m currently unemployed and this is the only place that’s 100% free for me to go to through my insurance. My husband’s insurance is exactly the same so idk where else I would even go😭 she didn’t straight up just say google it with an attitude, she was kinda like “yeah if I were you I would just go on to google and search hyperactive thyroid” if that makes it any better😅

Every Dr I have had has said to not google symptoms lol.. I ways do tho😩 I would definitely change my provider. He sounds unprofessional and like he's in the wrong profession. Our healthcare providers are supposed to be our health educators. That's not googles job lol. Hope you find a better Dr.

Please change doctor, no decent professional doctor will tell you to google something

I'm sure your insurance company has a portal online that lists other doctors that accepts your insurance. It may be worth looking into anyways.

Other doctors accept my insurance but this is the only place that’s 100% free, everywhere else I have to pay 20% after I meet the $1500 deductible (was $500 but went up to $1500 since I added my husband🙄)
