*Very stupid* 2nd birthday party question

FTM here 👋

My son turns 2 in July when hopefully all distancing restrictions will be over!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 since it's been a tough last year (he had his first birthday during COVID so it meant we could only have a small party in back garden) I wanted to do a big party for him to give everyone in the family something to look forward to.

Because of COVID, my sons nursery doesn't allow parents into the building and I've obviously not got to know any of the other kiddies/parents in my son's nursery. I thought it would be good to get to know the children in his room by inviting him to his party (it's be at a soft play centre or bouncy castle etc.)

Here's my question - is it normal to invite a child's extended family (aunties, uncles, grandparents etc) to the same party as the children in his nursery? The parents would obviously not know anyone there (including me - tgabks COVID) so it makes me think it's a terrible idea.

Like I said, the main reason to do it would be to get to know the other parents at nursery. Plus, we only have one other child my son's age in the family so it doesn't make sense to hire soft play for only the two of them! We wouldn't want to spend money on two separate parties (kids and family) as food venue hire etc. would add up (we would need to hire somewhere as hubby's parents don't get on so need somewhere big enough to give everyone space).

Any thoughts?!
