Grandma intruding?

So we live out of state from my husband's parents. Due to covid they have not seen our kids in a year and a half. His parents are finally able to visit for spring break. My mom (sees the kids every other weekend) has spring break the same time, she's a teacher. She wants to visit often on spring break. I told her no because I don't think it's fair to my husband's parents. She is super upset with me. Am I wrong for telling her no?

No, you’re giving the other grandparents an opportunity to visit, and mixing all those households isn’t safe. Keeping the circle small is the right choice, and honestly your household should be fully isolating for at least 10 days before they arrive, and so should they, if you’re really trying to be safe.
Your mom has been seeing them regularly all this time, at least that’s what it sounds like. She’s being unreasonable.

Do you expect her to not see the kids at all? If so I find that unfair. I understand wanting the out of state grandparents to her some time alone but you can’t just shut her out.

I think what you are doing is fair. Your mom has more access to the kids due to proximity. It’s only fair that your mom doesn’t dilute the time your husbands parents have with your kids.

I think you are doing the right thing. She can see when whenever she wants give the out of towners a chance. I’m in the same situation and if the out of town ggs visit I also have to put my foot down as the locals once’s kept pooping by and stealing the lo away plus since the Lo sees them more they are more likely to go running to them and not playing with the others

I’d say let her come over once in the afternoon say like 4pm before dinner and before bedtime. That would be more than enough compromise since she’s seen the kids so much and the others haven’t.
