Basics in a private school

Not sure if this is controversial so I’m sorry if it’s in the wrong group.

My school is 1300$ a month to attend. It’s a new school (about 5 years old) and they don’t know what they are even doing. There are many issues that I struggle with as a teacher working there and I don’t plan on staying another year but while km there I’m trying to do best by my students.

One thing I am trying to get them to do is provide some basic materials for the students. They don’t give out any pencils, any lined paper, any erasers, nada. Everything most come from the parents. I find myself needing new pencils every few months and I’m honestly embarrassed to be asking parents for these things so often.

Do you think a private school with this kind of tuition (which is moderately high where I live) should be providing at least some of these basic materials? We don’t have any Bristol board, construction paper, any types of paper other than printing paper, pencils erasers.
