Miscarriage question

I recently had a miscarriage on January 18th. My levels were down to a 2 the last time I had a doctors appointment. I took a pregnancy test February 11th and 20th, both were negative. I started my period for the first time today. It has progressed through the day to being large clots. Is this normal for your first period after a miscarriage?
