Ruca- is this a Spanish slang word?

My husband and I like Ruca as a boy’s name, but when I looked it up online it said it was Spanish slang for an old woman/girlfriend. I wonder if this is commonly used though and how many people would associate the name with the slang word. Spanish speakers let me know!!

I am not a Spanish speaker but Sublime uses this word lol and that’s what i think of!

That word is used in Mexico. I’m from Colombia and we don’t use it, although we understand what it means. I think is pretty :) you could try it with a K instead. Best of luck! 😊

I don’t use the word myself but I have heard it. And as someone else commented sublime does have a song lol. If it doesn’t bug you just use it though... if it does worry you that people would associate it, use it as a middle name or maybe try a variation of it like Luca?

I knew it growing up as slang for “bitch” so not something I’d name a child.

I knew people in high school that used it as like “my girl” or “my bitch” towards their girlfriends
