Soft cervix, baby coming soon?

Baby dropped a few days ago and I’ve been in so much pain with her in my pelvis. I was curious if I could feel if I had dilated at all, but thought I couldn’t feel my cervix. I tried again, and then realized I was poking it, it’s just so so soft (like fluffy soft) I didn’t even realize it! I’m used to feeling for it during ovulation and I’m used to it being pretty hard. It is still decently high up, but should I prepare for labor soon? This is my first and I know so little. Or should I talk to my doctor about my cervix?
