Bunk beds?

So tomorrow I get custody of my 2nd niece. I already have custody of one she’s almost 2. This one is 3. My husband doesn’t want them sharing a bed because he says that’s unfair. He suggested bunk beds. Is this a good idea? Their room is pretty small. (We didn’t anticipate taking them in when we started renting this house and it’s only 2 bedrooms) right now the almost 2 year old sleeps on a futon bed in there. But them staying with us is now looking like a more long term situation.

I think they’re too young for bunk beds. You could get a daybed with a trundle. That way you can keep the second bed out of the way when they aren’t sleeping.

They are way too young to safely be in bunks.  Even with a rail, I fell off (while sleeping) at 5 years old and broke my wrist in two places

I personally wouldn’t want my two or three year old that high off the ground. Too many injuries waiting to happen at that age with a bunk bed!

They are probably too little for bunk beds. I would do toddler beds.

I wouldn't get bunk beds yet just cause they are still little. I know my 3 1/2 year old is good with climbing and can get on my niece's and nephew's bunk beds and down with no help or problem. Try toddler beds till you know your niece is able to get up and down with no problem or help.
