Would you let your five year old visit their grandparents six hours away alone (assuming you don’t have a car)?

My mom keeps bugging me about having my daughter over alone and I keep refusing. 1) we don’t have a car, 2) they live six hours away, and 3) they’re still in contact with my brother who molested me when I was growing up. I just keep repeating “I’m not comfortable with that” when she asks but she wants a reason, which I don’t feel like I have to give since it’s my child we’re talking about and I’m not in the mood for the ensuing argument.

Your question should be “SHOULD I” let “MY” five year old... etc”
Because my answer is different in your situation. I trust my parents and I’d let them take care of my son at that age but I wouldn’t trust them if I were in your situation. Your parents need to understand your perspective. They need to just accept that they won’t be able to spend time with your child alone like that. Not for a long time if ever. 
I’m sorry you’re dealing with that. But I agree with you in your case.

I initially would say yeah but I wouldn’t want the risk of your brother showing up and them being in danger. So in general if I had decent parents and no predators connected to them yes I’d let them. In this scenario no thanks
