What can I take for cough?

I’m 14 weeks and have a bad cold/sinus infection. My cough is really wearing me down but all my new doctors office said I could take is plain mucinex which has been making my cough worse. With my first pregnancy my doctor allowed me to take mucinex DM which includes a cough suppressant. And that helped kick it. What has everyone else taken ?

Obviously you should check with a Dr but I can tell you that in my "Bible" of all things pregnancy from my  OB it says Tylenol cold,  robitussin dm  or pe, dymenhydrinate, dextromethorphan, guadifensin, nasal steroids, and nasal cromolyn are safe to use.  Pesudoephederine can be used sparingly in second trimester only if you don't have hypertension. No nyquil, ibuprofen,  aspirin, or Naproxen.
