How long to finish Nursery?

How long did it take everyone to finish their nursery? Me and hubby are buying a house and won’t be able to move in until a month before I’m due. My mother and husband will be painting as soon as we move in and then I plan on helping with the rest. Can it be done in a weekend or two? Or are we pushing it with only having 31 days before my due date 😬

Chances are your baby will sleep in your room at least for a little while. Don’t stress about having the nursery finished in advance. And the baby 100% will not care whether you have a Pinterest perfect nursery or a room that’s still in progress. ❤️

Just collect stuff beforehand and box it up into organized categories and plan ahead what’s going where in terms of closet/drawers/etc. organizing all the smalls is what takes the longest.
If you have lots of new stuff, not hand me downs, unbox things and cut off tags of things you know for sure you’re not going to return, that takes forever too!
***photo explanation: I’m not sure how big you are on organization but I’ve been using medium and small Amazon boxes to organize baby’s dresser drawers. I use a box cutter to cut off the flaps and then use the boxes to maximize vertical space since baby stuff is so small! If you did this for the dresser or did this in bins for closet shelves, you could get everything set and then slip the cut boxes straight into packing boxes to make unpacking a breeze.
(And a disclaimer, I have a condition that will likely result in premature delivery so I’m more ahead on the nesting/prepping curve than is normal!!)

I’m in the same boat, closing was supposed to be April 22 but we just learned yesterday it’s moved to May 25th, I’m due June 25. I think it’ll be fine, while not ideal I’ll have time to set up and plan on her sleeping in our room first month at least. Brother in law wants to paint a mural for us so we’ll see how that goes!
Do you have your crib and other goodies? What are doing for timing of a baby shower if you’re having one? I’m not sure what I’m doing w that timeline anymore

With my first, it took about two weeks to get done. That’s with painting, putting furniture together and putting everything in a place. Any little odds and ends, I didn’t get to. I wasn’t entirely concerned because my son was in my room for 3 months. Which made it easier to get to later on. I went into labor at 38 weeks, so the rest had to wait.

It’s not a big deal. I’m still not 100% done with my 21 months olds nursery. I need to start working on my sons big boy room but my husband it using the extra bed room as an office. We are starting construction on our basement, so I won’t be able to start on the room till the basement is done and the office moves. I hope to start working on it before baby comes but I plan to just put an extra dresser in our room for this baby with the bassinet. I will move the baby to the nursery when I finish the big boy room/our basement is done.

You'll have time, we put all our nursery furniture together in a few hours between 4 adults and once the dresser and changing table were done we stocked them and the closet and it actually was pretty simple. I didn't have a ton of extra stuff though. We moved into our new house 10 days before I gave birth, and 10 days before my due date (so we were supposed to have 20 days in the new house but only had 10, luckily I'd made the nursery top priority) and it only mattered so much anyway because the baby stayed in our room in a bassinet the first 6 months of his life and we used the changing pad downstairs in the Pack and Play more than the actual changing table. So if it doesn't all get done, don't stress about it too much ❤️
