Snitching good or bad idea?

So my brother got into a fight over his ex with a group of guys smh mind you my brother is only 17, they showed up at my moms house and shots were fired in an attempt to kill him! I'm so stressed about it..

He knows who the guys are that tried to kill him. But doesn't want to talk to the cops because he feels like that will put a target on his back even more so. Im scared for his life idk what to do anymore should he lay low and not saying anything or tell the cops who all was in the car that night?

I think its crazy how there's literally nothing for him to do all over a 15 yr old little girl smh this is insane. Hes not even with her anymore. Now he thinks he needs to find a gun and start carrying himself. Its like I can literally see his future slipping away right before my eyes and idk how to save him.
