Anyone still breastfeeding?

Gabriella

I’m currently still breastfeeding, from the breast. My little one has never taken a bottle, she’s always refused. She drinks from a sippy cup during the day. However I’m trying to wean and she just refuses milk from a bottle/sippy cup! Not really sure what to do. Any tips? I want to wean her completely by July her 2cnd birthday

Second trying out different cups and warming the milk. We alternate between munchkin 360 and nuby flex straw cups if we’re not using an open cup. We’ve recently weaned completely. Dropped the night feeds first then daytime feeds. My son still asks to nurse throughout the day but I offer him milk, water, snacks, hugs, kisses, etc. and he usually accepts one of those options. Stay firm in your decision, offer lots of love, and, in time, they’ll begin to understand that they still receive everything they need in other ways!

I stopped breastfeeding a few weeks ago now. I've never tried this, but apparently mixing a little honey and tiny bit of salt to normal cows milk mimics the taste of breastmilk so they're more likely to drink it. You can slowly cut back on other ingredients until they're drinking plain milk. I've found that my son will only drink milk if it's heated and takes it best from a straw cup. I just experimented with different types of cups and being persistent with it helped a lot.

My girl will not drink milk out of a cup. We have just droped her bedtime bottle, so now she doesn't drink any. She loves cheese and yoghurt so I make sure she has those in the day.

I am.My little never took a bottle either. She went straight to an open cup. We didn’t have an issue introducing homo milk though. If you wait until 2 milk will be less important if she is still not on milk. Just see a nutritionist who can help make sure you are including enough other dairy/substitutes in her diet so that she gets everything she needs.
