Planned csection experiences? UK moms

Question

Can any UK moms please tell me your planned Csection experiences as it is a strong possibility that I will have to have one to deliver my second baby. 
Bit nervous but hoping that your experiences will put my mind at rest. 
Good and bad experiences please as I want to be fully aware of both sides!

Hi I had a planned c- section on the 22/02. We went into the l&d at 7.30am on the morning and had a lovely midwife meet us and looked after us the whole time until I was moved down to the ward. You get taken down to a room where you change into a gown they weigh you, check BP, listen to baby's heartbeat. They explain everything they do to you. You will be seen by the anthesisist who will explain everything to you and if you don't understand or worried they will talk you through it. You will be taken down to theatre where they will sit you on the bed everyone in there will introduce themselves so you know who's who and what their part is. You will have your epidural then lay down you will be covered so you won't see anything. They will test you with spray to make sure you can't feel anything then when your ready they will start. It's painless you do feel tugging but it isn't painful theres always someone near you keeping an eye out on your BP etc when your babies born they will show you him/her then take them to be weighed and cord cut and wrapped up either mummy or daddy can hold them while your being sewn up. Then your took to recovery where you have your midwife there doing regular checks until your ready to be moved to the ward. I had a really good experience I was looked after really well and as scary as it may seem your really well cared for. Sorry for it being so long but I hope this helps and good luck.

I had a planned c-section and looked for experiences. I went in expecting a good experience from the stuff I read, making my bad experience a lot worse to cope with. I am not in the UK, but I recommend trying to go with an open mind. We are all so different. My medical team was wonderful, my issues had to do with my body, and recovery was difficult for the same reason. I beat myself up for it a lot after reading how many people “had it easy”. Also the bad experiences terrified me as well, so it seems like going in the dark might be better

I had 2 c sections, first was planned for 34 weeks but at 32wks & 1day I had a scan and they said I would have to have section the next day they woke me up at 9 and took me to theatre, everything went fine I was awake I don’t remember a few hours after but walked to neonatal that night. My second baby was born at 31 weeks that c section was all out chaos, I had a seizure then a scan then was in theatre within the hour so had no time to prepare for anything but it went really well even though I was terrified and there was a lot of staff in there I was calm & relaxed at the same time. My partner said they had to give me a second dose of medications as I was screaming I could feel them I cannot remember any of this. They also cut too deep on the one side so had stitches then sterile strips added. I was up and off down to neonatal at 10pm I don’t remember it I’ve got photos on my phone with date and time, i remember more from the next morning but I had way more medicine this time around than with my first. Good luck, you will be fine, the going down to theatre is the scariest bit once there the staff will do all they can to put you at ease xx

I've had two planned c sections. Both times I was terrified but it went do smoothly. Staff where reassuring, the atmosphere was calm and joyful. With my 2nd they cut his bum a little when working their was through my uterus but they said it was because my uterus was paper thin.
