I got my first credit card to start building my credit

I am married and 27, I’m a little embarrassed that I’m starting now. My parents never once taught me money management nor did they help me financially at all. I worked for everything I owned starting at age 12. I had a part time job and went to school. Now that I’m older my husband and I looked at my financials before marriage and started a plan. He has always helped me, but to a certain extent. I finally got preapproved for a building credit credit card. I plan on only using it for gas since my credit limit is small. I have to start somewhere right? I have to say I am kind of proud of myself, I know it may sound stupid.

Edit: thank you all for the kind words!! I’m hoping it won’t take long either. I feel some guilt financially that my husband has had to “carry the weight” which he has always told me that’s not the case. He just wants me to better myself for our future so he’s really supportive!
