I don't understand rudeness on social media

So this didn't happen on GLOW, but on another platform of social media.

A user was asking a general question in a group, like "Where can I find x,y,z? Thanks!"

And someone responds with, "Try googling it, it's not that hard."

Like WHY? WHY the snarky reply? Why not just say, "Try Googling it 😊" why the "It's not that hard"? It's uncalled for.

The user responds by saying "I did that, that's why I came here, I'm sorry I'm not trying to be rude." This poor person felt like THEY had to apologize.

Then the other person again made a snarky reply.

I just don't understand. Are some people losing their compassion and/or ability to interact because of the lockdown and less socialization?

I feel like I see it all over Instagram too. Keyboard warriors 😔

Also I didn't know where to post this. 🤷
