My 1 week old’s tummy has been grumbling ever since she’s gotten discharge. She’s only breast fed. Anyone know what it could be? My lactation consultant said it was normal for breastfed babies but I’m not too sure.

Answer

Is she satisfied when you feed her. Once you feed her, she should be sleeping soundly for at least 2-4 hours after each feeding. If she is still hungry, she may not be getting enough food. 
I say this because my 20 month old was exclusively breast fed after being discharged and he lost almost 10% of his weight because he wasn’t eating. He had a tongue tie and breastfeeding was too hard for him. Luckily, we caught it in time and were able to nurse him back. I still tried to breastfeed, but I supplemented with formula.
