Counting toys for toddler

Hi everyone, my 3yo is home with me for now, but will be starting preschool soon. He’s pretty good at counting to 10, but I want him to learn to count to at least 20 before he starts preschool in Sep. What are some good toys to help me teach him to count? I’m thinking maybe an abacus? Anything else?

Not sure if this will work for your child but this is how we taught our son to count to 30 when he was 2:
Every night before bed when we changed him into his pjs we would count to 30. It calmed him down. He would repeat after us: one, one, two, two, and so on.
We would also play hide and seek so he would need to count with one parent before he could find the other. Later we let him count on his own to find one of us.
He also would count stuff in his daily life like his cars, the stairs,etc.
So anyway I don’t think you need toys to help ylearn how to count. Our son learned better by playing with us and reinforce oh in his everyday life.

Personally ones of the speaking or singing ones helps my kids count have the numbers and letters the songs and counting games worked well with alot of kids my kid can count up to ten by himself and with me and or toy he can count up to 20

We do a lot of number and letter puzzles. We get coloring books and regular books with numbers and things to count on the pages. You can count things he sees every day like pieces of fruit, pillows, blankets, boxes, etc.

Count stuff in his daily life. Count the noodles on his plate, trucks that he has, leaves he collects, pieces of his puzzle. Our son counts his orange slices and cubes of cheese every meal (although that’s not over 10).
