Since I’ve been young my dad has been very racist. When I was 18, I started dating my first boyfriend. He is African-American. When I told my dad, he was mad. But he excepted it so he wouldn’t lose me as a daughter. I am now 21 still dating my boyfriend, and we just had a baby last month. For the last few months, my boyfriend been realizing how racist my father is. He’s overheard my father speak about African-Americans, he’s heard my father used the n word on multiple occasions. my father been mad at me for weeks when he found out that he has to move out of the apartment downstairs so my boyfriend, my baby and myself can move down there. So he will only be able to live upstairs. He will not be able to live in the whole apartment anymore she’s my grandma the person who owns this house. so tonight my boyfriend finally had enough. After my sister told us that my father told her “ that is unfair that we get to have the apartment and he has to move upstairs. That I got knocked up by “n word”. And that me and my ”n word” baby are dead to him. He kept using the N-word when talking about my baby and my boyfriend. So my boyfriend and him had some words. My mom and I got them to stop arguing. About 30 minutes later the cops showed up and said they got a 911 call from my dad that my boyfriend physically assaulted him by punching him in the face. It was obviously all a lie. My grandma my mother my sister my boyfriend and myself for witnessed him not punching my father. My father made this story up. The police obviously believed us. And my father was told that he cannot make a false police report.

Everything has calm down since this happened tonight. But I do not want to have a relationship with my father any longer. The rest of my family agree with me that I have to stand up for my baby and my soon to be husband. And I cannot allow this type of behavior. My friend told me that he is still my father at the end of the day and I am wrong disowning him. I just want to buy it from other people. Am I wrong? Do I have a right to stop having a relationship?

UPDATE!!!! Yes we are moving out. We actually made other arrangements already and as of tonight we will be living in my sisters side apartment. We will be packing and moving everything of ours out tomorrow. (This was all around 9pm so we couldn’t pack everything tonight.

Thank you for all the advice. I will not have a relationship with him ever again. My son and my boyfriend will always come first.
