Is it better to breastfeed?

Havent had my first kid yet but when i do im wondering if i should breastfeed or not. What do yall think ? What did yall do ? Does it hurt ? Lol

I tried with my 1st, but it became too much, pregnancy, labor, delivery,  breastfeeding,  lack of sleep , hormones and I had my husband's family living with us bc they lost their apt, safe to say why I had a breakdown infront of my husband, with my 2nd I didn't even want to try, and believe me my MIL pushed,  but I ignored her,  breastfeeding doesn't come easy to everyone.

You should definitely try! It is not supposed to hurt , you just have to get the proper latch. Check out how breast milk benefits baby! Not everyone can produce enough milk , I didn’t the first time. Hoping I can this time

Breastfeeding is healthy for the mom too!!! My daughter is 28 months and still nurses some. 🙂
It really is whatever you are comfortable with. Each mom and baby should figure out if breastfeeding or bottle feeding is right for them!

Definitely take a breastfeeding class to learn about it! Your doctor's office might be able to refer you to one, the hospital probably does one and there are a ton online. Education and partner support are key for successful breastfeeding. I've been breastfeeding my little guy for almost 11 months now and it has been very rewarding for both of us. And breast milk is free! Formula can be expensive, so something else to consider.

Do whatever you feel comfortable/happy with! My boy wouldn’t latch and after an emergency section I think I would’ve been more stressed trying to continue. I had brilliant midwives who supported me bottle feeding and, to be honest, I feel like it was the best choice for all of us as I got to sleep at night which helped my recovery whilst my partner did night feeds which he loved as he built a bond with baby too. I’m currently pregnant now and booked in for a section on the 2nd of august and I’m 99% sure we’re just going straight to bottle feeding ❤️

My first 2 I didn’t even try to breastfeed. I did bottle right away. 
This is my last and final baby and I’m for sure going to try to breastfeed even for a couple months. I hope it doesn’t hurt cause I know drying up the breasts if not breastfeeding hurts super bad for about a week.

The benefits are tremendous for mother and child. It doesn't hurt as long as you have the correct support to help you with any issues. If it does hurt, GET HELP! I was in a lot of pain but kept on asking for help and on day 5 my little girl had her tongue tie divided and it was immediate relief!
There is a common misconception about breastfeeding in regards to cluster feeding that lots of women think they aren't producing enough because baby is always on the boob. But your breasts are like rivers, not lakes, and the more baby feeds (especially at night) the more your produce. It can get exhausting but its usually only that intense for the first few weeks. 
The best way to know if baby is getting enough, is looking at nappies. If they are doing lots of wees and poos, then there must be lots of liquid going in! 
If you're serious about breastfeeding then arm yourself with facts! Do your research and know your myths; 
Breastfed babies do not sleep less, 
babies do not need "hungry baby" formula (its a marketing get around because companies aren't allowed to advertise first milks, if you use formula, you only need first formula for the first year of their life), 
babies tummies are as small as a marble when they are first born and breastmilk digests very easily so they will feed often, 
how much you can pump/express is not an indicator of supply (babies are far more efficient and suclking milk than any pump), 
It is rare that a mother will not produce enough milk for their baby.
Babies aren't meant to sleep through the night, waking to feed protects against SIDS
Pumping is still breastfeeding and is an option if baby has tongue tie and struggles at the breast.
Formula is a perfectly acceptable way to feed you baby.
Combi feeding requires effort, paced feeding should be followed and any bottles given also need to be pumped from your breast to maintain supply.

It’s your choice!!! I couldn’t breastfeed at all due to complications after birth. I tried but my body was wiped from those complications and I had to choose to rest my body and not try to get my milk back to where it was. I was sad at first but my baby didn’t really care when he transitioned from breast milk to formula. Same when we transferred him to whole milk and same when we transferred him to 1%. Im not saying it will be the same for you, BUT don’t let anyone tell you one is better than the other bc it isn’t. Formula has just as many dietary needs as breast milk and maybe more depending on the mothers ability to get all she needs. Childbirth is a trauma to a body so we have to recover and that takes time that we don’t necessarily get bc we have a baby to care for. Choose what is right for you. Another choice is to pump and bottle.
