iud help

hello! I’ve had my iud since June/July of last year. my periods have seems to get lighter and more spread out as time goes on. i can’t feel my strings but I have had an ultrasound and they said everything was fine. yesterday I was cramping really bad for a couple of hours and had a little bit of blood in my discharge. i am supposed to start my period tomorrow. i have the mirena. can I get personal experience from everyone else with a hormonal iud? did this happen to you? did your periods stop?
